R + T Wedding
Rachel and Tim are two of my favorite people. When they told me that they were getting married, and once I'd worn myself out fist pumping and jumping up and down, I begged them to let me design their wedding invitations. Thanks, Rach, for saying yes :)
These invites are a bit smaller than average, standing at only 6" and are printed on aspen wood.

E + C Wedding
pretty little pink invitation. Just the perfect color for a June wedding. Emily's main color is blush pink with accents of poppy, sage, mint and burlap (is that a color? well, the color of burlap). She is possibly the most laid back bride I've ever worked with. She very much spoiled me. I'm sure with that attitude she will have a beautiful and enjoyable wedding day. Congrats, Emily!

E+S Wedding Invitation
Invitations for a very classy New Year's wedding.
It's hard to tell by my horrible photos, but these invites use beautiful textured creams and shimmer papers. I also lined all 165 of the envelopes in glittery gold paper, so when you open it up...POW! It's a party! Once you break the black satin ribbon seal, the invite folds open and a side flap contains the RSVP Card and envelope, Reception Invitation and Accommodations Card.

R + L Wedding Invitations
hen Rachel approached me about designing her wedding invitations I thought to myself, "this is going to be good...muhahaha!" Few clients let me experiment on their wedding invites, but Rachel, being the creative adventurer that she is, gave me the go-ahead. Wahoo! My first order of business was to print them on wood. And isn't the final product so lovely? I want to print everything on wood now. My second thrill during this project was working with Emilie at Lief Design. She did all of the beautiful calligraphy.
Now that I've branched out a bit with my print production, I wonder what else I can print on besides paper...any ideas? Or maybe the better question is, anyone willing?

What I have to go through to get a decent picture...
But isn't she so cute?

M + A Finished Wedding Invites
As you can see by these photos, I don't have the greatest camera nor any photo-take'n skill...bear with me. It's probably not going to get better. I feel the need to say that every once in a while...
Since Miss Molly "Soon-To-Be-Bottorff" lived in my current hometown of Chicago for a while, I thought it would be appropriate to take her invite photos from my roof - where I have a bit of a view. Let me also add that the envelope and the navy backing SPARKLE. Also, the printing quality looks horrendous in these photos. I PROMISE in real life they look nicer. Blame it on my dodging, burning and sharpening (that's photoshop talk). I PROMISE the banding doesn't exist!!! ....promise.

Wedding Invitations
am not dead! Just busy. After a move to Chicago, a huge change in my job and continuing to attempt to plan multiple wedding events, I have now finally made time to post. Here are pictures of my OWN wedding invitations.
John and I are having a small wedding in northern Michigan and then celebrating back in our respective hometowns with receptions. (those invitations will be posted once I'm assured people have received them in the mail). Because our actual wedding will be small, I was able to go all out on these invites...I even got to bust out my stamp collection....

Save the Date...FOR ME
When I was in college I tried to design everything like my gig poster heroes. I just knew my life would be complete if I could move to the city, become a groupie and screenprint posters for bands. To say the least, everything I designed (especially my senior year) was gritty, distressed, over-sized and IN YO FACE. Thankfully I learned a bit more about design, however instead of seeing both for what they are I did an aboutface and swung the total opposite direction - corporate, subtle type treatments, quiet hues, soft burning of the edges (definitely still do that...probably too much). In my Save the Dates I revisited my true grit roots, but tried to maintain somewhat of a balance.
Sidenote: Was talking to my friend Caitlyn yesterday and told her I don't really like these enough to send them. I was thinking about redoing them. She told me to shut up and start slapping stamps on (of course she said it so much nicer). Ha! Sometimes second best is good enough. Especially when there are a hundred other things to do. She then told me that she printed the wrong year on her Save the Dates..hahaha. Made me feel so much better ;)
OH! and if you haven't received one of these, but know that you should have, don't sweat, I haven't mailed any of them out.
