Early Stages

Early stages in my "Ways to Travel" oil painting series. This will follow the style of my "Tandem" piece, continuing to play with texture and subtle color. The final product will be a diptych of matching unicycles. So far I've pretty much just been gluing down paper and then ripping it back off. It's funny that after years of painting I've matured to the level of Elmer's glue and computer paper....

Tall Stories

"Tandem" (Oil, 2'x 4') will be displayed in the most recent exhibit at the Columbia Art League. The show is titled Tall Stories to pay homage to the True/False film festival going on this weekend. The reception is tomorrow, but my painting will be up until April 17th. So go see it!

ps. it's hard to see this, but there is actually an abstract city made of cut paper underneath all of that white paint. The idea is to play down the color and saturation of hue to showcase subtle texture.
